Electrical Building Technology Guangzhou attracted a record breaking 71,801 visitors when it ran concurrently with the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition from 9 – 12 June 2010 at the China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou. 
     The combined shows attracted 15,796 international visitors from 107 countries and regions, an increase of 40 per cent from last year.  The top ten international visitor countries and regions were Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, India, US, Russia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia.   Domestic visitors rose to 56,005, an increase of 35 per cent compared to last year. 
     Mr Jason Cao, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt in China said: “Our visitor numbers increased by 36 per cent and reflected improved economic conditions and the continuing construction boom in China.  Within the construction industry the market trend is moving quickly towards the electrical engineering and building automation sectors because of their energy-efficient technologies.” 
     Electrical Building Technology Guangzhou attracted international delegations from world-wide industry associations that included the Electrical and Electronics Association of Malaysia (TEEAM) and the Hong Kong Electrical Contractors Association. 
     Show organiser Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd co-organised two fringe programmes which attracted a capacity audience of more than 100 attendees.   These events were the KNX Home and Building Control System Seminar and the Electrical Building Technology Symposium.
     Commenting on the fringe programmes, Mr Jason Cao added: “We had very positive feedback from participants who said that the chosen topics were very relevant to the market.  Many said that the fringe programme events added to the show’s value as participants had the opportunity to learn more about the new energy-efficient building and lighting technologies and how the KNX worldwide standard for home and building control could be implemented in China.”
