The Buildings Department approved 16 building plans in May - three on Hong Kong Island, one in Kowloon and 12 in the New Territories. One was for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, seven were for commercial developments, and eight were for community services developments.
     Consent was given for work to start on 13 building projects that, when completed, will provide 75,100 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,226 units, and 70,085 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use.
     The department has received notification of commencement of work for 17 building projects.
     The department also issued 13 occupation permits - five on Hong Kong Island, one in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories.
