Kwun Tong land to be resumed
Kwun Tong land is to be resumed to implement the first phase of an urban renewal project in the town centre, the Lands Department announced today. A total of 1,085 property interests at the site, bounded by Yue Man Square, Hong Ning Road, Mut Wah Street and Hip Wo Street, will be resumed. Apart from their entitlement to statutory compensation, eligible domestic property owners will be offered an ex-gratia home purchase allowance or supplementary allowance. Eligible residents will be offered rehousing in public housing units, or an ex-gratia cash allowance. Upon resumption and clearance, the Urban Renewal Authority will redevelop the 21,754-sq m site for residential, retail and commercial uses, and provide a public transport interchange, a hawker bazaar, a refuse collection point and public open space of not less than 2,760 sq m.
