Guangzhou Metro in joint-venture with Guangzhou Hui Zhao Business Services Co Ltd was recently awarded a plot of land to the north of Da Tan Sha rail line. The development could provide a total CFA of approximately 590,000 sq m. The developer is required to process experience and track record in building atop existing mass transit railway and tunneling. In addition, the developer is also required to construct pedestrian tunnels to connect the new development with Guangzhou Metro's He Sha Station and Tan Mei Station. Due to the complexity of the project, Guangzhou Metro has no competitors in the bidding process and the land was awarded at the cost of RMB3 billion.
Analysts said the development will probably consist of mainly highrise residential apartments. There will be also commercial space including shopping arcade, hotel and office building.
