Secretary for Food & Health Dr York Chow said the commissioning of North Lantau Hospital will start in 2013, while services will start as early as 2014. The North Lantau Hospital will not open completely in the first stage. The most important part is to ensure the services that are vital to the district will be introduced first, like the emergency services, adding the hospital will offer 150 beds at the beginning.
