Kingkey Finance Tower in final construction stage
Won in an international competition featuring some of the world¡¯s best known architects, TFP Farrells have been commissioned to design the 441-m tall Kingkey Finance Tower. Construction began in late 2007. It will be Shenzhen's tallest tower as well as one of the world¡¯s tallest mixed use buildings when completed in early 2011.
The 98 storey tower comprising over 210,000 sq m of accommodation is part of their master plan design for a 417,000 sq m mixed use development. There are one floor of basement retail connecting directly to a new metro station; 173,000 sq m of Grade A office space over 70 floors; and, 35,000 sq m over 20 floors of ¡°6 Star¡± business hotel complete with state-of-the-art conference and business facilities. A variety of fine dining options are contained within the crowning sky garden feature on the top 3 floors. Rational and efficient planning principles combined with the gently curved profile result in a desirable variety in the plan form at each floor.
The tower is linked to a retail podium and incorporates highly efficient and flexible spaces. Its use of human scale volumes, landscape and natural light will provide a pleasant and enjoyable working and living environment of the highest quality. The floors of the tower are divided into three major functions.  The lower floors from level 4 to 72 will be Grade A office space, 7 levels of trading floors evenly distributed throughout the main body of the office portion.  The uppermost floors from level 75 to 98 will be occupied by a 6-star luxury hotel and will include approximately 250 rooms including 25 executive suites, restaurants, fitness club, business centre and other luxury hotel support facilities.
Developed by the Kingkey Group, the project is scheduled for completion within 2011.
