Two Kowloon lots fetch $7.6 billion
Two government lots in Kowloon were sold on August 17 for $7.61 billion at the Lands Department's fifth land auction of the 2010-11 financial year. Kowloon Inland Lot 11125, the Ex-Civil Aid Service Training Centre at 204 Argyle Street, Kowloon, was sold to Bradford Investments for $4.1 billion while New Harbour Investments bought Lot 11120 on the Hung Hom Bay Reclamation Site D1, at the junction of Oi King Street and Hung Luen Road, for $3.51 billion. According to reports both companies belong to the Cheung Kong Group. The opening bid for the Argyle Street site was $2.857 billion. It has an area of 7,326 sq m and is designated for private residential purposes. The developer must complete a minimum gross floor area of 21,978 sq m for the site. The Hung Hom site's opening bid was $1.77 billion. It has a site area of 7,551 sq m and is designated for non-industrial purposes. The developer must complete a minimum gross floor area of 20,387 sq m for the site.
