23 building plans approved

The Buildings Department approved 23 building plans in June - six on Hong Kong Island, nine in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories.Of the approved plans, 11 were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, four were for commercial developments, six were for factory and industrial developments, and two were for community services developments.
     Consent was given for works to start on 15 building projects, which will provide 38,856 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use involving 655 units, and 49,966 sq m for non-domestic use. The department also issued 23 occupation permits - six on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and 13 in the New Territories. Buildings certified for occupation have 135,229 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use involving 1,365 units, and 51,240 sq m for non-domestic use.
     The Lands Department will resume 54 private agricultural lots in Tuen Mun for the development of public housing and education facilities. The lots, with a total area of about 21,274 sq m, are located near Kei Lun Wai and Kwong Shan Tsuen. Notices for the resumption were posted today and the lots will revert to the Government on Novmeber 21.
     Relevant site formation and infrastructural works are planned to start this year for completion in 2025, while public housing works are expected to be finished in 2027-28.
