Land enforcement stepped up

The Lands Department announced recently that it set up a task force to step up enforcement against unlawful occupation of government land and large-scale unauthorised structures on private agricultural land.
The Special Duties Task Force has identified 100 black spots of unlawful occupation of government land and control actions are being taken in phases. The task force aims to complete these actions within 24 months.
These spots, each over 1,000 sq m, are mainly in Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, and North District. They are used for industrial, storage, logistics and parking purposes. The task force will handle these cases in phases and accord priority to 15 black spots that have an area of 3,000 sq m or more.
If unauthorised structures are found on adjoining private land, the task force will also take enforcement actions to tackle all lease breaches in one go.
