Completion of One & Two Chinachem Central

The DLN designed One & Two Chinachem Central are a milestone redevelopment project for the developer Chinachem Group in Central CBD.

Addressing the rising need for modern, efficient and quality commercial spaces in the traditional Central Business District (CBD), One Chinachem Central is a 25-storey compact building comprises a 3-storey podium of retail shops and a 22-storey F&B tower. Two Chinachem Central consists of 26 storeys with first 3 floors (podium) for shops and the other storeys for office. The project aims to rejuvenate the properties, making a positive impact on the tenants’ businesses and adding vibrancy to the neigbourhood.

DLN Director Phiyona Au-yeung says, “The unique design of One & Two Chinachem Central combines modern architectural aesthetics with practicality. The bright white lattice on the facade of the architectural envelope of the twin-towers is inspired by bamboo motif. The randomness of the pattern gives a strong and playful visual impact juxtaposing the rigid and rational facade abundant in the area. The same design language is being carried through to the main lobby and typical lobbies. Imported crystal white glass is introduced to the interior space. Its absolute smoothness and curvilinear geometry accentuate physical and visual flow into the lobby, drawing attention at street level. This three-dimensional curve features continue to upper floor lobbies. They are another subtle interpretation of the bamboo motif. The distinctive appearance of One & Two Chinachem Central will become a new landmark of Central.”

The office buildings feature a column-free interior, highly efficient floor space and sustainable building design with LEED’s Silver certification, which help businesses maximizing efficiency in the use of office space and resources.
