Airport Authority issues invitation to tender for Skycity new hotel development
Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) has issued an invitation to tender for the development and management of a new hotel at Skycity. The deadline for tender submission is 11 January 2017.
As part of Skycity's Phase 1 development, the new hotel has a site area of approximately 6,500 square metres and a gross floor area of approximately 33,700 square metres. The new hotel is expected to be completed in 2020.
David Au, Executive Director, Property Development of the AA said: “Skycity is well-positioned with its proximity to Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) which serves nearly 70 million international and local passengers annually. Our vision is to create a new destination that offers overseas visitors and Hong Kong people unparalleled entertainment and leisure-oriented experiences.”
“The strategic gateway position of HKIA and the continuous development of mega infrastructure, including the Three-runway System, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link, will bring a large and stable potential customer base for Skycity. The AA would like to invite experienced property developers and hoteliers to join us to seize the new business opportunities at this premier location,” Mr Au added.
Skycity is an integrated development of HKIA, which will feature retail complexes, entertainment facilities, dining space, hotels, and office towers in its approximately 25 hectares of land at the north of the airport island.
