On September 8, the Civil Engineering & Development Department signed a $74.7 million contract with Wing Hing Construction Company for improvement works at Tai O.
     The project will improve traffic and pedestrian circulation outside the entrance to Tai O town centre and will segregate pedestrians and vehicles.
     The contract covers rebuilding the existing Tai O bus terminus and public car park into an open public space, a public transport terminus, a loading and unloading area, and a cycle parking area. The number of car parking spaces at Tai O will also be increased.
     The works are scheduled for completion by the third quarter of 2019.
