The China Formwork Association announced the establishment of the Aluminium Formwork Sub-council to focus on the aluminium formwork industry in China.
     In view of the fast growing demand of aluminium formwork in the construction field, both member and non-member fabricators are facing many difficult issues, such as industry standards, product specifications, pricing and matters related to after sales service. Buyers and users, including developers and contractors are even more confused about product applications, cost implications and quality specifications for various types of formwork systems available in the market.
     The Secretary General of China Formwork Association Madam Zhao Yajun said, "It is time for the aluminium formwork fabricators nationwide to convene and discuss various issues in order to form a solid foundation for the future growth of the trade. The formation of the Aluminium Formwork Sub-council will serve the interest of all fabricators and suppliers in China."
     On January 14, 2013, with the support of TLD Metalwork (Shenzhen) Co Ltd, a meeting was organized by the China Formwork Association in Dongguan. More than 30 formwork fabricators from many provinces were present and issues of mutual interest were raised and discussed. During the meeting, it was resolved that the Aluminium Formwork Sub-council was formed and chaired by Mr Cao Ying Chun, Managing Director of TLD Metalwork.
     "This is an important day for aluminium formwork fabricators in China. The local construction market represents 50% of the world¡¯s construction volume. Construction formwork will have a large potential market in China. The use of aluminium formwork has merely begun 10 years ago, whereas in other developed countries, construction formwork has flourished for more than 40 years," said Mr Cao Ying Chun.
     "The priority of the Sub-council is to develop an industry standard, including design, specifications, fabrication and quality standards, which is widely acceptable by fabricators, suppliers and users alike. We will learn from foreign products, but what we need is a new set of industry standard which is suitable for the local market," added Mr Cao.
