Guangdong to build more low-carbon housing
At the The Second Guangdong International Low-carbon Development Forum recently held in Guangzhou, spokesman from the Guangdong Provincial Housing Construction Bureau said during the 12th Five-Year-Plan, 40 million sq m of low-carbon green housing will be completed in Guangdong province. He said the bureau is formulating new building regulations to control electricity consumption in buildings. It is expected that excess electricity used by buildings will be subject to additional tax. The bureau is also encouraging the development of green roofs and re-modelling of large-size glass curtainwall and glass building facade in order to lower the heat transfer rate in buildings.
