Guangzhou Metro announced plans to develop a new headquarters building in Pazhou, Guangzhou. Tenders are invited on a build-and-transfer method. Guangzhou Metro will provide the land and the successful bidder will construct the headquarters building at a pre-determined cost. Upon completion of the project, Guangzhou Metro will take over the property and re-pay the construction cost, plus interest to the contractor by installments.
     The proposed headquarters building will have 45 storeys and is estimated to cost RMB1 billion yuan. The contractor has to meet all design specifications and fitting-out standards as required by the owner. The project is scheduled to commence construction in the first half of 2013 with an expected completion in mid-2015. The construction period will be approximately 800 days.
