The Highways Department invited tenders for two barrier-free access facilities contracts for highway structures. The deadline is noon on December 7.
     The first mainly comprises the construction of 13 lifts and three ramps, which provide access to six footbridges and five subways. The work is expected to begin in February 2013 and will take about 24 months to complete. Click here for details.
     The other contract will mainly comprise the construction of 17 lifts and three ramps for seven existing footbridges and seven existing subways in 12 locations. Work is expected to start in February 2013 and take about 42 months to complete. Click here for details.
