Bilco offers new BIM objects
The Bilco Company is pleased to announce that new Building Information Modeling (BIM) objects are available for the company's complete line of specialty access products. Available for download from the company's website (www.bilco.com) as well as http://seek.autodesk.com/search/the+bilco, BIM models are designed with built-in properties that allow architects to customize the product to output a model which meets their specific design requirements. Models are in Revit format and are available for roof hatches, automatic fire vents and floor access doors in both single and double leaf design configurations. In addition, Bilco currently offers CAD details, submittal drawings and three-part specifications on their website to further support the technical requirements of architects and specifiers. BIM is a software application that allows design professionals to demonstrate all aspects of a building design and create a single repository of design and construction documents, specifications and schedules for a project. The BIM process generates a 3D building model that encompasses geometric and geographic information of the building and properties of its components. The benefits of BIM modeling for the construction industry include improved coordination and collaboration between the design and construction teams and reduced information loss associated with project management. These factors decrease construction time and costs, benefitting all of the stake-holders of a construction process, including designers, structural engineers and contractors.
