Woods Bagot delivered a presentation recently at the Labs21 Conference in Providence, RI, following an invitation from the Institute of Sustainable Laboratories. Woods Bagot's Richard Marshall represented the Education, Science and Health Sector and gave the presentation on the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).
     The South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute: Translation of research - relevant solutions for everyday health problems. Tomorrow's organisational & learning environments are rejecting the hierarchy model of the past and embracing spaces that are open, fluid, boundary-less, and continuous - where knowledge transfer is at its optimum. The design of the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) follows this notion, with a vision to develop a platform for the translational cycle across a wide variety of disciplines of health and medical research. 
     Richard Marshall is the Joint Group Managing Director for Woods Bagot and Chairs the firm's Global Studio Executive. He is responsible for directing Woods Bagot's urban design practice globally. He has worked as an architect and urban designer for 19 years conducting architectural and urban design projects in the Middle East, Australia, the United States, China, as well as other parts Asia. Prior to joining Woods Bagot, Richard was Associate Professor and Director of Urban Design Programs at the Harvard Design School. He has authored three books and his writings appear in numerous publications.
