Solarhybrid builds Europe's largest solar power plant
Solarhybrid AG and the University of Applied Sciences in Eberswalde have launched a 13-year conservation monitoring project at the site of Europe's largest photovoltaic power plant "FinowTower" in Finowfurt, Brandenburg. The first construction phase, which has already been completed, is set to be expanded by 60.2 megawatts, increasing the total output of the power plant to 84.5 megawatts. In view of the power plant's size and the duration of the monitoring project, Dr Hans-Peter Piorr believes that this unique scientific concomitant research will result in a whole host of new insights. Research efforts shall focus on how the construction of large-scale photovoltaic open field systems impact the environment and what can be done to improve the design of these systems.
Solarhybrid AG develops, plans and builds turnkey photovoltaic power plants with multi-megawatt production capabilities. In this context, the company offers the following services: Project development, co-development; financing and structuring; marketing to financial investors; EPC (engineering, procurement, construction); O&M (operation & maintenance). Project financing, structuring and marketing are all carried out by solarhybrid capital management GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of solarhybrid AG. A list of references with a total capacity of 267 megawatts (both completed and commissioned projects) is proof of the company's expertise in technical, organisational and financial project management. Contracts for a further 123 megawatts are set to be awarded in the near future. The project pipeline, including the USA, totals approximately 2.5 gigawatts. The company is run its locations in Hamburg, Frankfurt and Brilon. In addition to these, there are also local companies in Italy, the Middle East and the USA. Company shares are traded on the open market of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
