"CHANGE" - by SKK

Granipierre by SKK is undoubtedly a milestone in architectural coating. A kind of prefabricated sheet made up by recycling natural stone and chemical compounds, Granipierre is far more environmental friendly and fits in green needs nowadays.

The VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) content of Granipierre is zero. Even after the renovation, construction wastage can be enormously reduced. By using Granipierre, the construction waste from work site can be fully recycled at laboratory, instead of dumping into the landfill. In this way, it is no exaggeration to label Granipierre as one of the most eco-friendly coatings.

Not only Granipierre is environmental friendly, it is also an efficient tool and practical to use. Pre-manufactured sheets of Granipierre from the laboratory and the factory are already in finished form for end users. The sheets are then adhered on the surfaces directly, so that the renovation period at site can be substantially shortened. Time consumption of applying Granipierre can be half comparing to the above procedures. Since the construction period is abridged, bad weather is also attenuated. On top of that, with processing by compressed moulding, Granipierre offers uniformity in shapes and quality is guaranteed. High labour cost of levelling off in traditional practice is economized. It also prevents uneven surface during heading off, as well as human error and poor workmanship. It can also flexibly present in many different designs, such as wood or stone matrix.

Granipierre has already been widely adopted in Japanese architecture decades ago. In recent years, Hong Kong has also started to pick up Granipierre as main materials for façade. Tungtex Building in Kwun Tong and the exterior wall of Manning House in Central District are both good demonstrations. Granipierre is also given credit by the Hong Kong SAR Government. Choosing Granipierre as the main material of design, Yau Tong Phase 4 Shopping Mall by the Hong Kong Housing Authority, has been recognized by the standard of Hong Kong Building Environmental Assessment Method (HK-BEAM).
