HOSPITAL Construction in Hong Kong
The HKSAR Government has embarked on a healthcare reform which led to rapid development of new hospitals and redevelopment or expansion of existing facilities in both the government and private sectors
Four sites for the development of private hospitals: Tai Po, Tseung Kwan O, Tung Chung and Wong Chuk Hang are set-aside. Upon completion, these four private hospitals will together provide high-quality medical services with 1,500 to 2,000 beds.
These new hospital projects present excellent opportunities for suppliers of hospital architectural and other services (medical records, waste treatment, etc.), technologies and equipment.
In the December 2010 issue, Building Journal will cover the latest development of hospital design and a special section will report on the construction progress of the following projects:
- Expansion of Tseung Kwan O Hospital
- North Lantau Hospital, Phase 1
- New Extension to Canossa Hospital
- Caritas Hospital Re-development Phase 2
- Clearwater Bay Hospital
- General out-patient clinic and care home, Tin Shui Wai
- Tin Shui Wai Hospital
