Top design award for GROHE Ondus Digitecture

GROHE wins third red dot: best of the best
Success rarely comes alone - and this year GROHE has achieved its third red dot: best of the best. The top prize in the red dot product design award goes to GROHE Ondus Digitecture, a modular collection for the bathroom. This is a masterpiece from the GROHE Design Studio, which has already received the top prize in the competition on two occasions in the past - in 2007 for the GROHE Ondus line and in 2009 for the Rainshower Icon hand shower.
GROHE Ondus Digitecture combines digital technology with modern architecture. The system consists of rectangular glass tiles on a five by five centimetre grid, coupled with top-quality GROHE products. This gives the architect creative latitude, while offering the user perfect design and functionality. The line includes shower heads and side showers, faucets and a varied range of storage options which blend in harmoniously with the aesthetically pleasing glass tiles. All the technology is concealed behind the wall, and it is intuitively easy to operate. Users can set the water temperature and quantity to their personal preference, and save the settings. The ultra-flat collection is a further development of the successful digital product line GROHE Ondus, characterised by a sensuous minimalism which has been influencing design trends worldwide.
The concept of this innovative collection found favour with the jury of the red dot product design award all the way along the line. The international design experts chose GROHE Ondus Digitecture as the absolute top product for 2010, out of thousands of submissions coming from 57 different countries. On 5 July the North Rhine - Westphalia Design Centre will confer on GROHE the seal of quality for top-ranking design, the red dot: best of the best. All the winning products will be shown from 6 July to 1 August 2010 at a special exhibition - 'Design on stage - winners red dot award: product design 2010' - at the red dot design museum, which forms part of the Zeche Zollverein colliery World Culture Heritage site.
