MTR Corporation has awarded the detailed design consultancy package C1101 on the Shatin to Central Link (SCL) to Scott Wilson, which covers the detailed design for modifications to the existing Ma On Shan Line and a new station at Hin Keng.

     Scott Wilson is responsible for the detailed design of extensive upgrades at nine existing stations on the Ma On Shan Line to cater for 8-car trains and a new above-ground station at Hin Keng. Scott Wilson and its sub-consultants will also carry out detailed design of new viaduct and about 120m of cut and cover tunnel running from Hin Keng Station to the tunnel under Lion Rock.

     Simon Davies, Asia-Pacific Region Chairman, comments, “This award is a welcome follow-on from our detailed design package on the South Island Line which is nearing completion. We have very much enjoyed working with MTR on the current design package and our team is looking forward to continuing the relationship on the new package on the strategically-important Shatin to Central Link.”

     The assignment is scheduled to commence on 3 May 2010.
