Hang Lung Properties Limited celebrated the grand opening of Olympia 66 in Dalian on September 9. This is Hang Lung's eighth commercial complex in mainland China and the project is designed by Aedas.
     Located in Xigang District, Dalian Olympia 66 is situated close to the city's iconic landmark, the Olympic Square, and stands adjacent to Zhongshan Lu, the main road through the city. Olympia 66 is a free standing mall with a retail area of over 220,000 square meters plus 1,200 car parking spaces. Based on the design concept of Chinese Tai Chi twin dancing carps, Olympia 66 is exemplary of Hang Lung's outstanding architectural design aesthetic. With a 300-meter-long facade decorated with about 3,000 fish scale-shaped glass ornaments and 9,900 meters of LED lights capable of displaying images and texts.
     As the destination of choice for fashion, lifestyle, and entertainment on an international scale, Olympia 66 brings to Dalian an alluring mix of global brand names and exciting shopping, dining and leisure choices. Food and beverage outlets account for 30% of the trade mix. The mall is also equipped with an array of entertainment and recreational facilities, including an ice-skating rink and Dalian's first Palace cinema, providing 10 houses and 1,600 seats.
     Olympia 66 is the second mall developed by Hang Lung in mainland China to implement the EST program.
